Hifi Boards and a Raspberry Pi

HifiBerry has come to BuyaPi.ca. If you every wanted to get high fidelity sound out of your Raspberry Pi for the perfect listening experience this board is made for you.

Ok what is high fidelity sound? Well high fidelity sound is the term used by audiophiles to refer to high quality sound recorded with high quality equipment. Basically “hi-fi” music sounds way better!

The Raspberry Pi is great for many things including home media servers, but the onboard sound output is not designed for high fidelity sound. Thats where the HifiBerry comes in. It connects directly to the Raspberry Pi A+ or B+ boards without cables or soldering (the a & b models do need a little soldering). All the required drivers are open source and freely available.
